Embossed aluminum can concept has potential at POP

We have seen a number of aluminum can concepts lately. Some of these are attractive designs with consumer appeal. They do, however, add no new functionality, or tangible consumer value, apart from branding opportunities. We do believe in sensory appeal, and its positive impact on consumer perception especially at POP.

One such concept eliminates printing on the can, instead going for embossing with raised letters on the can. We do not believe embossing is cheaper than printing. In principal, we are in favor of this approach as we are a big fan of sensory appeal elements on packages. Embossing usually delivers the least expensive sensory appeal results, and in some cases it may even reduce cost. We do believe that this can design, is indeed one of those cases.
